This is part of my work in the Julia Cameron Artist’s Way series. The work this time is from the book the Sound of Paper. The responses are self-examinations and assessments based on work through a daily series of exercises. While I do keep some material offline as it can be very personal and jarring, I often opt to be fairly open about my experiences, both positive and negative.
I’ve done this exercise before, and it’s always worth exploring. Especially as right now I’m not in an expansive state – I’m in an “augh! Too much! Too much!” state that is taking the play out of my sense of joy.
- Bellydance instructor
Small step to explore: Find time to go to a workshop day; maybe this summer – Anne-Marie teaches conditioning classes within walking distance of my home.
Small step: read some “poetry writing techniques” pages, and see about bringing that back to works I’ve already written. This is about getting enough written that I’m comfortable picking three and braving a microphone.
- Stylist (actually, part of a MUCH bigger picture)
Small step: Read the stylist groups in LinkedIn; see what people have to say. Maybe look at their web pages.
- Personal Shopper
Small step: see who offers the service around town.
- Burlesque dancer
Small step: go to a drop-in class.
