This bridge has literally a sea of humanity walking over it every morning that eventually calms to a steady flow of random passerby in the afternoon. Officially, it’s a well-known pedestrian that even has a little "shoe tree" off the side from students aiming for a 4.0. Unofficially, it’s the site of the most suicides in the city. Security assigns a guard to walk the bridge all night every night, and there are all sorts of rumors about people who seemed just fine who suddenly, for no apparent reason, jumped.
Personally I think that somewhere along the way the Mississippi spirit developed a taste. I think I imagined the research that substantiates that wild guess, unfortunately.
