The Roundup November 4 2024

What I’m Reading:

I Survived Capitalism and All I got Was this Lousy T-Shirt by Madeline Pendleton

The counterpoint to the Financial Feminist by Tori Dunlap. Dunlap’s book is for those with some privilege, some mainstream work life, and some steadiness. Pendleton’s book is for those born with everything off the rails because there were no rails in the first place. Both are valuable, and are best read close together. I have to say though, Pendlton’s story is heartbreaking and hopeful, at times in the same places!

Slavic Traditions & Mythology by Stefan Cveckovic

A review may or may not come later. Right now, I have a wealth of a-has as my intuitive practice aligns heavily with some Slavic practices and old perspectives. I always research the author after I’ve done the study. Regarding matters of Eastern Europe, for those of us among the Slavic diaspora, you expect to find things out about people. Purity culture has only so much space when your lived experience has been that of near-erasure and non-acknowledgment.

What I’m Watching

Mostly, I’m on a Gilmore Girls rewatch. I started watching The Good Witch right before Netflix yanked it, and I can see why I didn’t get into it earlier. When it comes to comfort shows, GG is probably my only non-spooky one. My favorite comfort show of all time? Haven. Two words: Nathan Wournos.

If someone can tell me how I can find free publicity images from these shows, let me know. I don’t feel right taking photos of my TV!

What I’m Working on

Why yes, another book is in the works. I will fill in all the little gaps on Urban Magick for you all.

For the Spirited Witch Patreon and site, I’m turning my Magickal Modalities class into a self-paced course. Learn how you perceive information, and find how you’re already psychic! I’ll be practicing alongside folks as my perceptions can use some improvement.

Also, the Spirited Witch Substack of the Dead is allowing me to express my own experiences with second sight, having to do psychopomp work, and handling hauntings when you’re trying to just concentrate in class.

I also have a teaching night and a festival that I will be reading at soon. Check my site calendar for updates!

If you want more of my goodies for the world, pray for peace, order, good health, and money to all come live with me. Also, an attractive and organized ADHD wrangler would be okay; the more gender-fluid and age-appropriate, the better. (When you become a parent to someone over 23, suddenly age is NOT just a number it’s a guaranteed super awkward Thanksgiving.).

I have some steady freebies on my Substack and my Patreon - so if money is very much an object or you, don’t let it hold you back. Your support makes a huge difference in my world.

And yes, I have reopened my shingle - I am indeed available for readings!
